Stacey Kotzamanis and her family are collecting 5,000 pounds of shoes by Dec. 31 for George “the Shoeman,” who has come to the aid of the poor in Africa and South America..

“We started collecting shoes five years ago,” Kotzamanis said,Light hiking shoes for sale: Resembling burly running shoes, these low-cut models with flexible midsoles are excellent for day hiking. “for them (her children) to be more service-minded.”

George (the Shoeman) Hutchings founded Shoeman Water Projects in 2008 after trips to Kenya, where he had seen a nation of people without shoes. He also saw people in desperate need of water. He connected the two causes, collecting shoe donations and selling them to an exporter, who in turn sent them to street vendors in Kenya, Chile and Haiti.

“People buy shoes and keep their dignity. We need all new and used shoes for men, women and children. The sole has to be attached,” Kotzamanis said.

The funds generated from the sale of shoes is used to buy water-drilling rigs. Kotzamanis has seen the need in Africa herself when she went on a mission trip to Uganda after seeing a performance of “Ugandan Thunder Children’s Choir at her church, Godfrey First United Methodist. Carol Noble of East Alton became interested in the project as well.

“God laid it on my heart to further the cause with a more specific purpose, 5,000 pounds of shoes for a water purification system small enough, 10 to 15 pounds, to fit in a backpack.”

The small system is hooked to a water tank with rainwater or whatever the source is. It is then purified. The Shoeman attended Living Waters International water drilling camp in Houston in 2008,Wholesale Women Shoes from China, buy China wholesale Women's Shoes products and find high quality Women's Shoes products。 where he learned to drill simple water wells. “George has rigs in Kenya, Haiti and South America. We are meeting next month. The man is passionate,Wholesale Fashion Shoes has more than 25000 pairs of women's footwear in stock.” Kotzamanis said. “He saw the need.”

Kotzamanis visited orphanages in Uganda on her mission trip in July with about 50 people. When the children’s choir had come to this area, she, her children and husband Angelo had hosted three of the boys, and the children from the choir, in turn, stayed with her group in Uganda.

She hopes her efforts to collect shoes will be the beginning of taking the water projects to the next level.

Perry Sandifer, a member of Godfrey First United Methodist Church, was instrumental in bringing the Ugandan Children’s Choir to the Alton area. A new choir will be performing in June, and Kotzamanis got to meet them on her trip.

“They’re amazing kids,” she said. The fee includes lunch and a soft-sided Cooler Bag Wholesale filled with useful golf items, 18 holes of golf, carts, and a buffet dinner immediately following the tournament. “Some are orphans and some have parents who can’t provide for them.New additions to their line-up include the Mercury Ultra White Matt 405gsm the best inkjet canvas suppliers, 5-metre-length inkjet trial rolls of the PermaJet Oyster 271gsm and Ultra Pearl 295gsm media, an all-new Image Block Print Display System, a range of fast drying canvas protective varnishes in 2.5-litre cans, an anti-curl roller device and more.”

She said that the past children’s choir was mostly from the Royal orphanage in Uganda, one of the few where almost all children had shoes. Ted Moody, a retired Georgia minister founded the nonprofit organization, “Pennies for Posho,” (a porridge made from cornmeal) the mainstay of the Ugandan diet. Goodwill offerings are taken during the performances. The children need food as well as shoes.
